1 cup whole milk
1 12- ounce cans evaporated milk
2 ounces cream cheese (diced)

3/4 cup mozzarella cheese (grated)
1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
1/4 teaspoon fresh ground pepper
1/4 teaspoon paprika
1/4 teaspoon ground mustard
1/4 cup butter (diced)

Steps:

  • Add all the ingredients into a slow cooker and mix well.
  • Cook on low for 90 minutes to 2 hours (If your slow cooker runs hot, check at 90 minutes).
  • Stir gently and serve.

3 tbsp butter
2 & 3/4 cup half & half
1 15 oz can Campbell's Cheddar Cheese condensed soup
1/2 tsp ground black pepper
1/2 tsp paprika (smoked or plain)

Steps:

  • Combine the half & half with the cheddar cheese soup, and mix until it's nice and smooth.
  • Next, sprinkle in the paprika and black pepper, and mix.
  • Pour the elbow macaroni and cheese into the crock pot, half of the shredded cheddar & colby, the cut butter, and half & half/ cheddar soup mixture.
  • Mix until well incorporated.
  • Top off with the remaining shredded cheese.
  • Put the lid on top of the slow cooker, then set the slow cooker on low.
  • Let cook for 3 hours.

250 g macaroni (uncooked elbow macaroni)
200 g mature cheddar cheese (freshly grated)
50 g parmesan cheese (freshly grated)
650 ml milk (semi-skimmed)
250 ml double cream (heavy cream)
50 g butter (melted, unsalted)
3 tbsp flour
1 tsp English mustard
1 tsp garlic granules
½ tsp salt (finely ground)
½ tsp black pepper (finely ground)

Steps:

  • Preheat the slow cooker and when it's warm, pour in the melted butter.
  • Sieve in the flour, stirring continuously to make a roux (see recipe notes), ensure any lumps of flour are smoothed out. Add the garlic granules, salt, pepper and mustard and mix through.
  • Slowly pour in the double cream stirring continuously, to form a thick sauce. Then add the milk gradually (again stirring through) to create a thinner creamy sauce.
  • Pour in the uncooked macaroni and make sure all of the pieces are submerged in the sauce. Cover and cook on low for 1.5 to 2 hours until the macaroni is cooked 'al dente' - when the pasta is soft but not bloated, and retaining its shape.
  • Add the grated cheddar and parmesan cheese and stir through. Replace the lid and cook for a further ten minutes. Then serve immediately.

This is an easy slow cooker macaroni and cheese recipe made with shredded cheese, milk, and cooked macaroni. Also some tips and variations.

3 cups uncooked elbow macaroni
5 tablespoons butter, softened
1 (12-ounce) can evaporated milk
1/2 cup milk, half-and-half, or light cream
3 cups shredded sharp processed cheese (Velveeta) or cheddar cheese
1/4 cup finely chopped red or green bell pepper, optional
1/4 cup finely chopped onion, optional
1/2 teaspoon kosher salt, or to taste
1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper

Steps:

  • Gather the ingredients.
  • Following package directions, cook macaroni in boiling salted water. Drain well and transfer hot macaroni to a large bowl.
  • Butter slow cooker crockery insert with about 1 tablespoon of the softened butter.
  • Add 4 remaining tablespoons of butter to hot macaroni and toss to coat thoroughly.
  • Add evaporated milk, milk or cream, cheese, and bell pepper and onion, if using. Add salt and pepper.
  • Cover and cook on high 2 to 3 hours, stirring once or twice. Taste and add more salt, as needed.
